Our room was comfortable as you can see from the photos. It is across the street from a steak house, and kitty corner from a Starbucks. Now $145 (Was $̶2̶9̶0̶) on Tripadvisor: Red Feather Lodge, Tusayan. We got here later in the evening but check in was quick. but this offered a nice stay for the most reasonable price around.Very convenient to the South Rim. We stayed in the newer building and the room was clean and comfortable.
We were traveling with our dog and 3 children. I guess only during Covid 19 can you stay here by making a reservation the night before and getting a reasonable rate! The room was fine, staff was friendly, but it felt like a big, cold place. Although on the first floor, it was very quiet. The restaurant on property is a concession to us and we will be sure to let them know that your experience with them was not not good. An easy 10-minute drive from the Grand Canyon South Rim gate, close to restaurants and the tourist info center as well.The hotel is family owned, which comes with some personality, but you still get what you would expect from a national chain. Some other hotels in Tusayan ( Best Western Hotel and possibly Canyon Hotel) in summer 2018 had very nice hotel fine dining restaurants, but I am not convinced those fine dining hotel restaurants are fully operational in summer 2020 due to the pandemic. The Red Feather apparently has a new section and an old section. Taxes and fees that are shown are estimates only. Lodge was clean and well appointed throughout, very welcome swimming pool and small gym and the location in Tusayan is great for both getting to the Canyon and using the town's restaurants. they have free apples, coffee, tea and coco.A (paid) pre bagged breakfast would have been nice as we get started very early on our trips. The Red Feather has a good location within the tiny town of Tusayan. We usually stay within Grand Canyon National Park in our RV or a hotel. We stayed in the newer hotel building which was newly renovated, although there is an older motel-style building on the property as well. Free beverages, fruit and cereal bars were a great touch and the reception staff were brilliantly helpful (something many of the 4 and 5* hotels we stayed in on this trip would do well to emulate). Everything in the area is expensive (food, gas, etc.) Our rental did not have an ice scraper and the hotel lends them out. Yes, it offers wheelchair access, reduced mobility rooms, and facilities for disabled guests. Would stay here again.The Red Feather Lodge was as clean and comfortable as any chain hotel, and the staff were as professional as could be. We were not on the highway side of the hotel. The only noise we got was from the ice machine outside our room. Own or manage this property? I believe our room was in the new section.
