Room was more than equivalent to Kachina but $100 cheaper than room without a rim view anyways.
Don’t remember name of man who checked me in on 7/24 to room 7062, but service great, funny , professional, and explained everything very well. I was informed they were resolved immediately after your departure. It is not within walking distance to the canyon but it is centrally located and the bus service is free and easy to use. Additionally, our rooms have all been fully remodeled this year so I was surprised to hear your disappointment for that. Rooms have not been updated. No microwave.
Our unit had been renovated and had a nice bathroom, comfortable bed, nice carpet and draperies. The ceiling fan was not adequate. Staying in the park was convenient and I'm so happy we stayed here.
The hotel is located within walkind distance of a restaurant, take-out, and grocery store, all with good, fairly reasonably priced (for a tourist place) food. If you travel all the way to the East entrance gate, note that it is a 3.5 hour drive to the only open entrance (South). WiFi and parking are free, and this hotel also features a restaurant. I went during Covid thinking the worst but it’s incredible! He was several rooms away cleaning. I hope he sees this.
For a lodge it was fantastic. Clean and comfortable lodges within 15 minutes walking to everything or just go by car for an easier time. It was cooler outside than inside the room. Guests can enjoy surroundings and stunning views over Sky Harbour and Phoenix Sky Harbour. There is a nice grocery store and restaurant that is walkable however.
